The
University appreciates that moving away from home can be a daunting
prospect and therefore provides a guarantee that all students in their first year of study will be provided with accommodation, as long as applications are received by 1st September.
All first year students, from any location, will normally be allocated a single study bedroom in a University residence on campus, although in times of high demand students may be required to share a twin room. For Session 2010/11 accommodation available to first year students includes Andrew Stewart Hall, A K Davidson Hall, Geddes Court, Murray Hall and Alexander Court. Off campus accommodation is available at our Union Street Development in Stirling city centre which has the added benefit of allowing first year students to bring a car. If specified accommodation is full, suitable alternative accommodation will be arranged by the University.
Overseas students (non-EU) are guaranteed University accommodation throughout their years of study. Accommodation not reserved for first year or international students is allocated to second, third and fourth year students who have indicated a preference for this.
On-campus Halls of Residence are occupied predominantly by students in their first year of study and adult returners may therefore prefer other forms of accommodation.
The Residential Services team is delighted to assist all students with accommodation matters and can also provide a list of private sector contacts for those who wish to make their own arrangements.
Separate accommodation arrangements are in place for students at the University's Highland Campus in Inverness and Western Isles Campus in Stornoway. For accommodation in Inverness please contact the Accommodation Manager, Tel: 01463 704350. To enquire about accommmodation at the Western Isles Campus, contact Tel: 01851 708243.
